I used to stay at a hotel at this location that was ideally situated on the beach, had a charming courtyard pool and was dead dull. Vero is pretty sleepy to begin with, but this place was just so bland (with is turquoise highlights, fluorescent lights and florid bedcovers…you get the picture). Then, a hurricane destroyed it, so I didn't stay there anymore.

Amazingly, replacing this stucco hulk is a charming Mediterranean-style villa replete with fine dining, very sophisticated décor, a fitness center and a spa (!). Even the pool was remade and is now ringed with cabanas. Only the ocean remains (and it too seems somewhat better).

Well, Vero is still pretty dolorous but trust me it will be quite a bit more stimulating at the just-opened VBHS!
