Madison Hotel
79 Madison Avenue
Memphis, TN 38103
(866) 44-MEMPHIS (toll free)
We were on the ground floor with this one partnering with the now landmark Madison
before it even opened. Even exceeding expectations, the Madison fills a niche in a city
that has become increasingly sophisticated while maintaining its Southern charm and
hospitality.
An inspiring, visual tribute to Memphis' rich musical history, the Madison
combines the intimate service of a bed and breakfast, the stylish elegance of a
first-class inn and the amenities of a far larger hotel. There is a fitness center
(in the old bank vault), a business center and an indoor (heated) pool.
Its 110 rooms and suites, housed in an historic bank building (c. 1906), feature
classic comfort (European linen, down comforters and duvets) along with
up-to-the-minute amenities (complimentary high speed internet access and cordless telephones).
At the lobby level, there is an exquisite restaurant serving full breakfast, lunch and dinner.
You can start off with a complimentary continental breakfast on the mezzanine, return for
high-tea in the afternoon, and celebrate your day's successes by relaxing with a
cocktail back at the lobby bar.
All this steps from Memphis' bustling business district, the Convention Center,
and Blues mecca, Beale Street. The downtown trolley is less than a block away.
If that is not enough, check out the Madison's rooftop for a spectacular view of
the mighty Mississippi (an excellent place, by the way, for an event).
The "ground floor" has its advantagesthe Madison Hotel is offering Academic
Ambassadors these flat rates for 2009:
Superior (Bankers): $204
Deluxe: $238
One Bedroom Suite: $298
