Well, this is a propos: Academic Ambassadors around Embassy Row (where else?). In the city of the infinite corridor, we have intimate and stylish alternatives, including The Topaz Hotel on N Street and the Hotel Madera on nearby New Hamphire Avenue (both walking distance to dynamic Dupont Circle).

Each has a cushy lounge—perfect for a splendid continental breakfast, their lobbies are bold and inviting, the rooms are plush with down comforters, flat screen televisions, and the requisite business equipment (data ports, minibars…).

The Topaz has a happening bar, the Madera has a destination restaurant (gourmet and organic!).

In keeping with the Kimpton Hotel Group's nationwide arrangement with us, both hotels are being offered to Academic Ambassadors at their Best Available Rate (BAR) minus 20% (for the remainder 2010).

Book online by clicking here for The Topaz Hotel or click here for Hotel Madera. Our code GBP0330 will appear in the Rate Code or Global Business ID field. Our savings will show up under their "Global Business Program".

You may visit The Topaz Hotel and the Hotel Madera's websites at www.topazhotel.com and www.hotelmadera.com respectively.

And while these two may have the funk, they have some upscale cousins (Kimptons all) nearby, including: the Palomar in Dupont Circle, the George on Capitol Hill and, perhaps the cream of the lot, the Hotel Monaco at Penn Quarter/Downtown.
